IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald
Barder
October 19, 1936 – June 1, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Barder of Oakford, PA. Ron passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, with his family by his side.
Ron was born on October 19, 1936, in Lykens, PA. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1963. Ron shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Nancy Barder, who passed away on April 8, 2021. Together, they are survived by their five children, Carol Licolli (husband, Robert), Scott Barder (wife, Christine), Denise Wilson, Diane Lisowski (husband, Joseph), and Ronald Barder Jr. He was known as "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren, Joseph, Ashley, Abigail, Rylee, Amanda, Dean, Allyssa, Cameron, Keith, Dana, Jake, Colleen, and his great-grandchildren, Mason and Gianna.
Ron led a full and hardworking life. He drove a bus for SEPTA, worked in construction, and managed a warehouse. However, he was most proud of his 25+ years in the advertising department at Sears. He often shared how he started as a stockboy and, through determination and dedication, rose to become an executive managing million-dollar accounts despite having little formal education. His story was one of grit, perseverance, and pride in a job well done.
Ron will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, wittiness, his unwavering devotion to Nancy, and his deep love for family and friends. He will be dearly missed and will live forever in our hearts.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Horsham Center for Jewish Life for their dedicated support for the last year.
As per Ron's wishes, services and interment will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved, Nancy.
Butterfly kisses.
