IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond
Uccelletti
January 13, 2025
On January 13, 2025, our brother Raymond S. Uccelletti Jr., was called home. He was 70 years old. He was loved by his family and by so many, even from a distance. He struggled his adult life with mental illness and it was not easy on Raymond and quite a challenge to those who loved him. We believe he knew he was loved.
Raymondo (as he was loving known as) was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond F. Sr & Mary C. (Coia). He leaves behind his siblings, Carol, Donna, Lucy, Jeannie (Vaughan), Freddy, and Peter Cosumano (Carolyn).
Nephews & Nieces: Joshua, Jamie, Kayla (Stephen) Rebecca, Sonya & PJ.
Great Nephews & Nieces: Dominick, Gabriella, Anya, Dean, Kade & Jaxon.
To all of his many cousins, you know who you are, he loved you all deeply. Thank you for your kindness and support to him thru the years.
Raymond graduated from Bishop Kenrick in 1973. He was a fullback for the Bishop Kenrick Knights Football team. In his senior year they won the Catholic League Division Championship. Raymond possessed an athletic prowess that awarded him a scholarship to Gardener – Webb University. Raymond was proud of his accomplishments.
Raymond was a huge Philadelphia Sports fan, especially the Phillies & Eagles. Go Birds!
He was gifted with a beautiful baritone voice that he would show off on many occasions at any Karaoke night he could find , belting out Frank Sinatra classics. His faith was paramount to him. He joined many church worship groups. He loved playing tambourine in the church band. He also possessed a mechanical aptitude. He could repair anything that had an engine. Later in life Raymond could be counted on to be a wonderful house or dog sitter when needed.
He was extremely proud of his 30+ years being a member of AA and NA. He tried to help many in need.
Family is where life begins and where love never ends. The bonds of family are strong and enduring. Especially in his close knit Italian family. Faith and bonds of love will be tested when mental illness enters into a family. Although mental illness is common and widespread, most families are not prepared to cope with this disease. Thru it all Raymond knew he was loved and remained strong. He was reminded often (by his sisters) how lucky he was to have 4 sisters. Hahaha. We thank you all for your prayers for Ray and our family.
Thank you to those who have reached out and shared many fun stories about Ray prior to his illness. It's been healing to hear about his antics and fun-loving nature. Raymond had a love for Life and was an all-around good guy.
Interment will be private and we ask that in memory of Raymond you reach out to anyone affected by mental illness, addiction or anyone who might be lost in the darkness.
