On Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, Laura Nelson, loving sister and mother of four children passed away at the age of 84. Laura was born on June 28, 1936 in Lansdale, PA to Ethel and James Byrd. She was a piecemaker after six formals. On May 28, 1975 she married the late Dennis Nelson. As a young girl Laura had a passion for jumping rope. She got into ministry in 1995 and became a Jehovah witness the same year. She spent the last 30 years of her life in ministry. She was known for her love for Jehovah, her stylish ways, and her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel; brothers Alfred and Nelson, and her sister Lenora. She is survived by her daughters Melvina, Jacqueline Grisby, Ethel Hayes. She is also survived by her only son, Levioe Howard and her brothers Robert Byrd, James Byrd, and John Byrd. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Gladys Byrd, Jenan Etheridge, Sandra Prince, and Linda Byrd. Her grandchildren Rashania Williams, Christina Williams, Crystal Thorpe, Emmanuel, Ché Hayes, Elijah Mincy, Aliyah Mincy. She is survived by 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday March 19th, 2021 via zoom.
