James Joseph Johnston, age 78, of Ambler, Pa, passed away on February, 27, 2021 at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington.

James was born in 1942 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Frances K. Johnston. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas and Victor Johnston.

James went to school at Upper Dublin High School, then worked as a machinist at Yarway Corporation. James was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

James is survived by his son James J. Johnston Jr. and daughters Mary F. Stutman, Tina M. Opalisky and Kathryn E. Johnston. He is survived by his grandchildren Kevin Rooney, James Johnston III, Samantha Stutman, Alana Stutman, Grant Opalisky, Connor Opalisky, Lauren Opalisky, Bridge Davis, Sebastian Davis and Justin Davis.
