Barbara Schaeffer

Date of Birth: 9-12-1947; Date of Death: 5-26-2025.

Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Vanartsdalen) Beggin. She graduated from Saint Hubert High School and then attended Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science to study microbiology.

Barbara was a talented artist and floral designer. She brought creativity and individualism to her art as well as her life; exploring religion, health, and nutrition with curiosity and intellect. She was a survivor and intellectual who found solace in creating through many great difficulties in her life, none of which were greater than the illness and death of her husband, John Schaeffer.

Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted daughter, a caring sister, and a snazzy aunt who will be dearly missed. Barbara is survived by her daughter Jennifer Schaeffer, her granddaughter Xandria Schaeffer, her brother John Beggin (Carla), her niece Ashley (Ben), and her best friend Sharon as well as many cousins and other family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Pennepack Baptist Church at 8732 Krewstown Road Philadelphia, PA for a prayer service to celebrate Barbara's life.
